Woonsocket Tree Canopy Strategies Information

We need to hear from you! What changes to Woonsocket's environment, policies, and planning do you most support? Your input will inform Woonsocket's Strategic Tree Canopy Plan, which the City will use as a guide for implementing forestry-related policies and programs. The City proposes to establish a goal to increase tree canopy cover from 34% to 35% (a 1% increase) over the next 10 years. This means approximately 525 trees must be planted annually on public and private property to offset the annual tree loss due to disease and removal. In total, over 5,240 trees must be planted by 2036. Woonsocket Tree Canopy Strategies Survey Click Here
